Public Education

Public Education brings Brasil’s histories, cultures, and contemporary debates into accessible talks, workshops, and publications.

About the program

Public Education creates opportunities to explore Brasil’s diversity, complexity, and connections with the United States. It responds to stereotypes and gaps in public knowledge, examining how history shapes contemporary inequalities, identities, and democratic life.

Through talks, workshops, publications, and digital resources, we bring scholars, artists, activists, and community voices into conversation with the public. Working with educational and community organizations, we connect research with lived experience and make learning accessible beyond academic settings.

We aim to deepen understanding, encourage informed participation, and equip people to challenge discrimination. Guided by anti-eugenic principles, our programs affirm human dignity, value diverse forms of knowledge, and strengthen commitments to democracy and human rights.
